Conversations with a 3-year-old

March 18, 2009

While eating breakfast:

Kennison:  Mommy, you’re eating grown-up cereal?
Me: Yes, sweetie.
Kennison: Because you’re a grown up?
Me: That’s right.
Kennison: When I’m a grown up I’ll eat your cereal?
Me: I don’t know, maybe.
Kennison: OK. I eat cereal with marshmallows now, though.
While fixing Kennison’s hair:

Me: Kennison, please stop wiggling and just hold still!
Kennison: No, not right now. Maybe later, though.
